About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsperson to join V J Agosta & Associates in Werribee, VIC on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal role within our architectural practice, where you will be responsible for translating design concepts into precise technical drawings and documentation. As a Draftsperson, you will play an essential part in the delivery of architectural projects, ensuring that all drawings meet industry standards, comply with building regulations, and effectively communicate design intent to clients, contractors, and stakeholders. Your technical accuracy and attention to detail will be fundamental to the success of our projects and the reputation of our practice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate architectural drawings and technical documentation using REVIT software, ensuring compliance with Australian building standards and codes

• Develop detailed construction drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details from architectural concepts and sketches

• Prepare site plans and floor plan documentation as required for various project types

• Assist with the preparation of presentation materials and visualisations for client meetings and project proposals

• Ensure all drawings are properly coordinated, titled, scaled, and annotated in accordance with practice standards

• Support the project team by liaising with external consultants and coordinating cross-disciplinary drawing information

What we're looking for

• Proficiency in REVIT software , with demonstrated ability to produce high-quality architectural drawings

• Previous experience in an architectural or design practice with 3-5 years of local experience.

• Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and drawing conventions relevant to architectural practice

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• A solid understanding of architectural design principles and the ability to translate design concepts into technical documentation

• Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with digital documentation practices

• A qualification in architectural drafting, technical drawing, or a related field (such as a Diploma or Certificate in Architectural Drafting)

• Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) or experience working with BIM-based workflows would be advantageous

• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying current with industry practices and software advancements
