About the role
Western Sydney Arts Alliance (WSAA) is the leading advocacy body for arts and culture in Western Sydney. We represents more than 40 arts and cultural organisations across Western Sydney, working collectively to advocate for a stronger, more sustainable and equitable creative sector. Our strategic direction includes supporting opportunities for First Nations peoples, d/Deaf and Disabled creatives, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ creatives, young people and other historically underrepresented communities.
WSAA works to strengthen the voice, visibility and sustainability of Western Sydney’s creative sector, advocating for greater recognition, investment and opportunities at local, state and national levels.
Through its membership, WSAA builds connections, capacity and collaboration across the sector and works with government, industry, communities and cultural leaders to advance the interests of Western Sydney’s diverse creative communities.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a values-driven organisation at the heart of one of Australia’s most dynamic and culturally rich regions. As Executive Officer, you will work closely with the Management Committee to lead the implementation of WSAA’s strategic plan and advance its vision for a thriving and sustainable arts, culture and creative sector in Western Sydney.
This is the inaugural Executive Officer role, working with a Management Committee made up of representatives from Western Sydney organisations. The successful appointee will work alongside the Committee to establish a strong foundation for WSAA’s growth, development and advocacy.
The Executive Officer is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, leading advocacy activities, building stakeholder relationships and overseeing the effective operation of the organisation. The role works to strengthen the voice and influence of Western Sydney’s arts and cultural sector by coordinating advocacy, developing partnerships and engaging with government, funding bodies and industry stakeholders to increase recognition, investment and opportunities for the region.
Working collaboratively with artists, communities, member organisations and sector leaders, the Executive Officer supports WSAA members, delivers sector development initiatives and advances outcomes that benefit the region’s diverse creative communities.
WSAA offers flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to undertake meaningful advocacy and sector development work that contributes to long-term cultural, social and economic outcomes for Western Sydney.
