About the role:

CMAX is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Participant Engagement Officers to join our team on a casual basis.

As one of the first points of contact for people interested in participating in clinical trials, you will provide clear information, conduct telephone pre-screening and help potential participants navigate the initial stages of their clinical trial journey.

This is a fast-paced and rewarding call centre role where your ability to build rapport, ask appropriate questions and accurately capture information will directly support the recruitment of participants for important clinical research studies.

Casual shifts may be available during business hours, after hours and on weekends. Applicants must have the flexibility to work across a range of these times based on operational requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

• Engage with prospective and existing clinical trial volunteers via inbound and outbound phone calls;

• Conduct telephone pre-screening of potential participants to determine study suitability;

• Schedule appointments and maintain accurate participant records within our database;

• Support the recruitment of volunteers for a broad range of clinical research studies;

• Provide exceptional customer service while building rapport with participants;

• Assist participants attending the clinic by guiding them through the registration and administrative process;

• Work collaboratively with the Participant Engagement Team to achieve recruitment targets.

About you:

You are a confident communicator who enjoys speaking with people from diverse backgrounds. You can balance warmth and empathy with the need to follow structured processes, meet targets and maintain accurate records.

• Previous experience in a call centre, contact centre, customer service, healthcare administration or similar environment;

• Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills;

• A warm, professional and empathetic telephone manner;

• The ability to quickly build rapport and confidently guide conversations;

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate data entry;

• Confidence discussing personal and potentially sensitive medical information;

• Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly;

• Strong organisational and time-management skills;

• The ability to work independently and contribute positively within a team;

• A proactive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
