Finance Manager – Payroll, Compliance & Reporting

About the role (2-year Fixed Term Contract)

Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation (YEC) is seeking a Finance Manager - Payroll, Compliance & Reporting. This role is responsible for leading financial reporting, compliance, governance, budgeting, forecasting, audit management, taxation obligations, treasury and financial systems. In addition, you will oversee the outsourced functions including payroll. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will provide strategic financial insight and commercial support to assist Executive and Board decision-making while ensuring strong financial governance and regulatory compliance across the business. You will be joining a small, but very well experienced team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management reporting.

• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning.

• Develop and prepare board reports, assist in the preparation and review of financial models and business cases.

• Oversee taxation compliance including GST, PAYG and FBT.

• Manage external audits and relationships with auditors and advisors.

• Maintain robust financial controls, policies and governance frameworks.

• Support project financing, commercial evaluations and investment decisions – in conjunction with the development and commercial teams.

• Lead system improvements and financial reporting enhancements.

• Manage the outsourced functions, including AP and Payroll.

About you

• CA or CPA qualification.

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.

• 8+ years' experience in financial management, reporting and compliance.

• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation requirements.

• Experience managing audits, budgets, forecasting and internal controls.

• Medium - advanced financial modelling and analytical skills.

• Experience implementing or managing financial systems.

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work in a collaborative and evolving environment.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel capability and strong Word and PowerPoint skills.
