Payroll & HR Administration Officer

About the Role

In this role you will support the existing payroll team to process up to approx. 1,700 employees with fortnightly pay cycles which is a combination of manual and electronic processing. You will need to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and have previous experience in interpreting awards and agreements.  

Responsibilities

• Assisting fortnightly pay runs on a timely basis in accordance with the relevant industrial instruments  
• Assists end to end processing for both permanent and casual employees on EA and Common Law contracts 
• Manage a broad range of payroll and employee queries and requests in a timely manner while demonstrating expectational customer service
• Facilitates the processing of new hires and terminations  
• Provides assistance with the calculations for tax, deductions, superannuation, Centrelink and Work Cover payments  
• Supports the delivery of fortnightly payroll reports 
• Contributes towards resolving complex enquiries, calculations and adjustments 
• Prepare certificates of service and separation certificates 
• Maintain accurate and up to date employee records and HRIS systems (Dayforce)  
• Partner with the HR admin team regarding Dayforce records and employee concerns
• Supports HR admin processing as required  

Skills and Requirements 

• Experience with payroll, roster & HR systems
• Health or aged care payroll experience (ideally 1-3 years of experience) 
• Experience in dealing with payroll enquiries 
• Good understanding of payroll processes and legislation  
• Attention to detail 
• Organized 
• Reliable
• Current police check (or willing to obtain) 
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion   
• Proficient with Microsoft suite and HRIS System (Dayforce)- desirable
• Qualifications in Payroll, HR, Finance or similar - desirable
