Machine Operator - Afternoon Shift

We have an exciting opportunity for a Machine Operator - Afternoon Shift to join our Arnott's Virginia team!

This role is perfect for someone experienced in operating machinery within a fast‑paced environment and who prides themselves on remaining calm, focused, and solutions‑driven.

You will be responsible for operating packing machinery on the line and feeding product on the band, ensuring consistent performance and quality across our production processes. If you are a strong communicator with a mechanical mindset and you enjoy being part of a supportive, hands‑on team — this could be the role for you.

What your day looks like:

• Set up, changeovers, operating and troubleshooting of equipment within Arnott's OH&S, Quality and Performance Standards
• Maintain smooth operation of packing machines and feeding stations
• Complete quality control checks throughout the shift
• Uphold GMP, HACCP and hygiene standards, ensuring all process areas remain clean and compliant
• Work both autonomously and collaboratively to meet daily production requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the team
• Coach and develop team

The Ingredients for Success:

Just like you can't make a Tim Tam without chocolate, there are a few essential ingredients we need for this role:

• Previous machine operating experience in an FMCG environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence troubleshooting machinery
• Understanding of team, safety, and quality operating principles
• Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles (advantageous)
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
• A continuous improvement mindset
• Strong performance and attendance record
• High attention to detail
• Strong leadership and collaboration ability

Additional Requirements:

• Candidates will be required to complete a full medical, including drug and alcohol screening, as part of the recruitment process
