Western Plant Hire is expanding its presence in the mining sector and is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to drive new business opportunities across the Goldfields and broader Western Australian market.

Based in Kalgoorlie, this role will focus on developing new customer relationships and identifying opportunities for Western Plant Hire's growing equipment rental and maintained hire services, with a strong focus on our ultra-class fleet offering.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated industry professional with strong mining networks who enjoys getting in front of customers, building relationships and creating commercial opportunities.

About the Role

Reporting to the Plant Hire Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities within the mining, resources and contracting sectors. You will represent Western Plant Hire in the marketplace, promote our equipment solutions and work closely with operational and leadership teams to convert opportunities into long-term commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities across the mining and resources sector.

• Build relationships with mine operators, contractors and key decision-makers.

• Promote Western Plant Hire's maintained hire and equipment rental capabilities.

• Identify opportunities aligned with our growing ultra-class fleet offering.

• Conduct regular client visits throughout the Goldfields and wider WA region.

• Research emerging projects and market opportunities.

• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective opportunities.

• Assist with quotations, proposals and tender submissions.

• Gather and share market intelligence to support business growth initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Experience in business development, sales, commercial or account-facing roles within mining, mining services, heavy equipment or equipment hire.

• Strong understanding of the Western Australian mining industry.

• Proven ability to build new customer relationships and generate opportunities.

• Excellent communication, networking and relationship-building skills.

• The ability to work autonomously and proactively from a Kalgoorlie base.

• A current C Class Driver's Licence.

Highly Regarded

• Existing mining industry networks within the Goldfields.

• Experience with mining equipment rental or maintained hire environments.

• Exposure to ultra-class mining equipment or large-scale fleet operations.

• Relationships with major mining companies, contractors or mining service providers.

• Tender and proposal development experience.
