This is a fixed term, full time vacancy available for up to 12 months, with the possibility of permanency, subject to business requirements.
About the role
The Western Australian Office of Crime Statistics and Research (WACSAR) is responsible for researching and analysing crime and criminal justice issues and trends in Western Australia. The Office interprets and critically evaluates justice data to inform policy and government decision-making and policy development.
The Senior Evaluation and Research Officer leads and delivers strategic research, evaluation and review activities that inform evidence-based decision-making across the Department. The role manages and oversees the Department’s research program, including internal initiatives and externally commissioned research and consultancy projects, ensuring high-quality and timely outcomes. It provides expert advice to stakeholders and supports the development of frameworks, methodologies and strategies that strengthen evaluation capability. The position also builds strong partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders and drives the integration of research insights into policy, operational and strategic planning.
