An opportunity to work alongside an established visual artist and creative business

I am seeking a highly creative and visually sophisticated Social Media Content Creator to work with me in developing engaging, captivating and authentic content across Instagram and other digital platforms.

I am a full-time visual artist with a studio-based practice specialising in large-scale, colour-saturated abstract oil paintings. Alongside my exhibition practice, I work across creative workshops, mentorship, interior design and styling collaborations, art consultancy and bespoke creative projects.

You will be responsible for creating a mix of:

• Reels and short-form video
• Behind-the-scenes studio content
• Artwork photography
• Artist/process videos
• Creative and educational content
• Workshop and event content
• Interior and styling-related content
• Stories and other engaging social content
• Edited content ready for publication
• Web ready images

I am particularly interested in someone who can identify spontaneous, visually compelling moments that make people want to stop scrolling, look closer and connect with the work.

You will ideally have:

• A strong visual eye and natural understanding of composition, light, colour and aesthetics
• Attention to detail
• Experience creating short-form video and highly sophisticated social-media content
• Confidence shooting video and photography in a studio environment
• Strong editing skills and an understanding of Reels and current social-media formats
• A creative instinct for storytelling and visual communication
• An understanding of how to create content that feels sophisticated, authentic and considered
• Initiative, reliability and the ability to work independently - a strong work ethic
• An interest in art, design, interiors, fashion, culture or other creative industries
• You don't necessarily need to be an art-world expert. Curiosity and a great visual eye are more important.
• Your own digital camera is a bonus

I am not looking for generic influencer content or overly commercial social media.I want to create content that feels artistic, contemporary, intelligent and authentic to the studio and the work.

The successful person will have the opportunity to develop a strong understanding of the practice and contribute ideas around how the work, the artist and the wider creative business can be presented digitally.

This could suit a creative communications, photography, film, design, marketing or social-media student/graduate, or an emerging content creator looking to build their portfolio within the arts and creative industries.

The role is studio-based in Melbourne and would involve regular sessions capturing content, with flexibility around the arrangement for the right person.

The position could be structured on a casual, part-time or project basis, depending on experience and availability.
