Procurement Officer

About the role

This role involves managing the full procurement lifecycle, from identifying and evaluating suppliers through to ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. You will be responsible for supplier relationship management, cost optimization, quality assurance, and inventory control while maintaining compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and establish and maintain relationships with them

• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers

• Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations

• Assess the company's needs for products and services and create purchase orders

• Ensure that orders are placed, received, and processed in a timely manner

• Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-control strategies

• Ensure that purchased goods and services meet the company's quality standards

• Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information

Essential Skills and Experience

• Bachelor degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field, or at least 5 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a formal qualification.

• Minimum of 12 months of relevant post qualification work experience.

• Experience in quality control, inventory monitoring and resource management.

• Proficiency in Tableau and Microsoft Office.

• Strong leadership and teamwork skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.
