George & Matilda Eyecare aims to create a supportive environment where eye care professionals can deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Coffs Harbour, NSW. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, assess visual function, and diagnose and manage a range of ocular conditions. The role includes prescribing glasses and contact lenses, recommending suitable optical solutions that align with each patient’s lifestyle, and providing clear education on eye health and treatment options. The Optometrist will work closely with the practice team to ensure a welcoming, patient-focused experience, support clinical record-keeping and compliance, and contribute to practice growth through high-quality care and professional service.Qualifications Current degree in Optometry and eligibility for registration with the relevant Australian optometry board, with appropriate therapeutic endorsements preferred.Strong clinical skills in eye examinations, diagnosis and management of common ocular conditions, and prescribing of lenses and contact lenses.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide personalized patient care and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary practice team.Commitment to evidence-based practice, ongoing professional development, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation and regulatory compliance.Ability to deliver warm, friendly, and customer-focused service, with an interest in matching eyewear and optical solutions to patients’ lifestyle needs.Experience in a retail or clinical optometry setting is beneficial; familiarity with modern diagnostic equipment and practice management systems is an advantage.
