About the role
We are seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker - CNC Machinist to join our growing team at our Fyshwick workshop. This is a full-time position based in Fyshwick, ACT 2609, where you will play a crucial role in the production of high-quality joinery. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining and optimising our range of workshop machinery to produce precision components and finished pieces that meet our exacting standards. This role is integral to our production capabilities, ensuring that every cabinet and joinery item we create reflects the quality and craftsmanship that our clients expect.

KDT Pre-milling Edge Bander With Panel Return System
KDT Electronic Panel Saw 3800
Key responsibilities
Operate and maintain a range of woodworking machinery including panel saws, edge banders, CNC machines, sanders and other specialist equipment
Keeping area clean and orangised
Taking delivery or materials and hardware
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and safety checks on all workshop machinery
Quality check all machined components to ensure they meet design specifications and tolerances
Prepare materials for machining, including selecting appropriate timbers and finishes
Collaborate with the design and installation teams to resolve production challenges and ensure projects meet client requirements
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality across the production process
What we're looking for
Proven experience operating CNC machines, panel saws, edge banders
Knowledge of finishes and materials used in bespoke cabinetry
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to precision and quality craftsmanship
Proficiency in setting up and calibrating machinery to achieve consistent results
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different project requirements
Reliable, professional approach with good communication and teamwork skills
Valid driving & forklift licence
