Retail Manager ( Portfolio) Contract 8 Months

• Fixed-term (parental leave cover) contract for 8.5 months, commencing September 2026.
  
• Join a high-performing retail property team managing a portfolio of more than 20 retail assets across Queensland and New South Wales.
  
• Lead, mentor and support Retail Managers and centre teams, helping drive operational excellence, compliance and service delivery.
  
• Partner closely with the Portfolio Manager as a trusted second-in-command, providing guidance across tenant management, governance, reporting and portfolio operations.
  

Who we're looking for?

• Demonstrated experience within retail, shopping centre or commercial property management.
  
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Property, Real Estate, Business, Commerce or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  
• Current Real Estate Licence or Certificate of Registration (or the ability to obtain one) relevant to your state.
  
• Strong knowledge of property compliance, workplace health and safety, lease administration and asset management practices.
  
• Experience supporting, mentoring or leading teams within property.
  
• Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple assets.
  
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with retailers, clients and internal teams.
  

The role
As Assistant Portfolio Manager, you'll support the day-to-day management of a large retail portfolio across Queensland and New South Wales. Working closely with the Portfolio Manager, you'll provide leadership and support to Retail Managers and centre teams while helping ensure assets are operating safely, efficiently and in line with client expectations. This role combines people leadership, tenant engagement, governance and operational oversight. You'll act as an escalation point for tenant matters, support compliance and reporting requirements, undertake regular site visits and help drive consistent service delivery across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting the management of portfolio assets through regular site visits and engagement with centre teams.
  
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, retailers, councils, and stakeholders.
  
• Managing escalated tenant matters and ensuring issues are resolved effectively.
  
• Overseeing portfolio processes such as sales reporting, insurance audits, risk and safety reviews, and compliance requirements.
  
• Reviewing lease documentation and preparing recommendations for the Portfolio Manager.
  
• Providing timely updates on priorities, risks, and emerging issues.
  
• Supporting portfolio operations during periods of leave or increased workload.
