Senior Financial AccountantSydney CBD | Up to $140K + SuperAn outstanding opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Senior Financial Accountant to join a highly regarded ASX-listed property organisation with a strong market reputation, premium asset portfolio and an exceptional workplace culture.Reporting to a Finance Manager and working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, this role offers a broad mix of financial reporting, tax, audit coordination and business partnering responsibilities. It is ideally suited to a high-performing accountant looking to make their second move from professional practice or take the next step from a Financial Accountant position into a more senior and commercially focused role.This is an organisation known for developing talent, providing genuine mentorship and offering clear career progression pathways within a collaborative and high-performing finance team.Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Statutory ReportingPrepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for multiple entities within the group.Assist with ASX reporting requirements, including half-year and year-end reporting processes.Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and corporate policies.Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting activities.Tax & CompliancePrepare and review BAS, IAS and other indirect tax obligations.Assist with income tax calculations and tax effect accounting.Liaise with external tax advisors on compliance and advisory matters.Monitor changes in accounting and tax legislation and assess business impacts.Audit & ControlsCoordinate external audit processes and manage auditor requests.Assist in the preparation of audit files and technical accounting papers.Support the ongoing enhancement of financial controls, policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks and risk requirements.Business PartneringPartner with asset management, property, operations and commercial teams across the business.Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.Assist with investment, development and acquisition-related financial analysis.Support stakeholders with budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and financial processes.Participate in finance transformation and systems enhancement initiatives.Contribute to continuous improvement projects across the finance function.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will bring:CA or CPA qualification (CA highly regarded).4–7 years' accounting experience.A background in Audit, Business Services or Financial Accounting.Experience within property, real estate, funds management or a listed environment will be highly regarded.Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capability.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.A proactive and commercially minded approach.Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large ERP systems.Why Join?Join a leading ASX-listed property organisation with an exceptional reputation.Broad and varied role across reporting, tax, audit and commercial finance.Strong mentorship from experienced finance leaders.Clear career development and progression opportunities.Excellent culture with a collaborative and supportive team environment.Prime Sydney CBD offices with flexible working arrangements.Attractive salary package of up to $140K + Super.This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant seeking a genuine stepping stone into a broader senior finance position within a high-quality organisation that actively invests in the development of its people.
