About the role

The Coffee Club Village Square Browns Plains is seeking a talented and passionate Cafe Supervisor/Barista to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership position within our busy cafes located in Browns Plains, QLD. As Cafe Supervisor/Barista, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while overseeing daily cafe operations, managing staff, and maintaining the highest standards of coffee preparation and presentation. This role is pivotal to creating a welcoming and efficient environment that keeps our customers coming back.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based beverages, specialty coffees, and other cafe beverages with precision and consistency

• Supervising and training cafe staff, ensuring they maintain excellent standards in both service and product quality

• Managing daily cafe operations, including stock management, cash handling, and till reconciliation

• Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and well-organised cafe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations

• Taking customer orders and providing friendly, attentive service whilst managing the cafe floor and seating areas

• Monitoring and controlling food and beverage costs, minimising waste and maximising profitability

• Building positive relationships with customers, responding to feedback and resolving any service issues professionally

• Assisting in the implementation of cafe policies, procedures, and promotional activities

• Performing opening and closing procedures, including equipment checks and preparation for the next service

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Barista with strong espresso machine operation and latte art skills

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably within hospitality or cafe environments

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team

• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage a busy cafe during peak times

• Food safety and hygiene certification, or willingness to obtain this qualification

• Point-of-sale (POS) system experience

• A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and creating a positive cafe experience

• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude towards work

• Ability to work flexibly, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required

• Desirable: Certificate III or IV in Hospitality or relevant cafe management qualifications
