Estimator

CA&I is a construction company delivering exceptional building, landscape and civil construction projects for Local and State Government.

CA&I is currently searching for a Junior Estimator to join its estimating team. There will also be a requirement to undertake some project engineering duties so the role would suit an engineer looking to move into estimating, or a junior estimator with project engineering experience.

The Junior Estimator will assist the estimators in preparing pricing and tender submissions up to $20m in value, with career progression to estimator expected for the right candidate.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Experience of Civil Construction in the Greater Sydney region.

• Industry relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil) Building (Build).

• Experience in planning, organizing and directing construction activities

• Experience in the administration and facilitation of contract management and scheduling.

• Experience and knowledge with budgets and cost tracking.

• Experience and knowledge in the implementation of quality control programs.

• Experience in assisting or directing and supervising staff.

• Computer literacy and with a high proficiency using various relevant applications.

• Knowledge of WH&S and industry relevant Principles.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE - DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

• Experience of estimating.

• Experience either in a project engineering or estimating position on Transport for NSW or local government projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing and issuing RFQ’s.

• Assessing subcontractor and supplier quotes.

• Drawing take offs.

• Reviewing tender documents.

• Undertaking tender pricing.

• Tender programs.

• Construction methodology.
