We're a multi-award winning Savannah Guide Operator running day tours, Thomson River cruises, and escorted outback journeys to some of Queensland's most iconic destinations from Birdsville and the Channel Country to Cape York and the Torres Strait. About the role

As Senior Operations Manager, you'll sit at the heart of the business keeping tours running efficiently, supporting a passionate team, and making sure our customers and suppliers always experience us at our best. This is a senior role with real scope, reporting directly to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Own the annual activity calendar, build it, improve it, and keep the whole business on track against it

• Manage day-to-day operations across the full extended tour program

• Develop and implement systems that drive consistency, efficiency, and clear communication internally and with suppliers

• Make sure the operations team has the people, equipment, and resources they need to deliver

• Oversee multiple venues including events

• Analyse operational data to check that what we promise our market is what we actually deliver

• Translate business strategies into practical plans and hold the team accountable for results

• Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulators, including DTMR Operator Accreditation, AMSA, ONRSR, WHS, and Food Safety frameworks

• Report regularly to the General Manager with clear, honest operational updates

• Foster a team culture where people take pride in their work and look out for each other

About you

• 3–5 years' experience in an operations management role

• Proven ability to lead a team, build accountability, and get results through people

• Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail

• Clear communicator in writing, in conversation, and face to face

• Analytical mindset with experience working with operational data

• Practical problem-solving skills and the drive to see things through

• Comfortable working with software systems and open to learning new tools

• Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen living in Australia

• Familiarity with any of the relevant regulatory frameworks (DTMR, AMSA, ONRSR, WHS, Food Safety)
