About the opportunity
The Medical Workforce Unit is seeking skilled and motivated administrators who are ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in supporting our Junior Medical Staff.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, collegial team at the centre of medical workforce governance and operations. As a Medical Workforce Coordinator - Junior Medical Staff, you will work closely with the Medical Leaders at Werribee and a range of corporate stakeholders to provides end‑to‑end management and specialist support across the full Junior Medical Staff (JMS) employment lifecycle from recruitment and credentialing through to rostering and pay.
If you enjoy working in a complex, fast paced environment, have a strong attention to detail, and are interested in broadening your experience into medical workforce, governance, or junior clinician support, we would love to hear from you.
Prior medical workforce experience is welcome but not essential - we are keen to hear from administrators who bring strong organisational skills, sound judgement and a willingness to learn and develop in a specialised area of health administration.
What you'll doCoordinate end‑to‑end Junior Medical workforce processes, including recruitment, contracting, credentialing and roster-to-pay activities along with workforce governance standards.
Preparing JMS employment contracts and associated employment amendments.
Ensuring Junior Medical Staff receive a coordinated, positive, and professional workforce experience.
Acting as a central point of contact for JMS workforce matters, providing clear, accurate, and timely advice to both clinical and corporate stakeholders.
Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, enterprise agreements, and credentialing requirements.
What you'll bring
You will thrive in this role if you enjoy working with complex workflows, building strong relationships and delivering high‑quality administrative support in a fast‑paced environment. You bring:Experience in medical administration, HR, payroll, finance or hospital operations (3-5+ years preferred)
Strong coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with accuracy
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail, time‑management and problem‑solving skills
A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to supporting colleagues and delivering high‑quality service outcomes
Understanding of medical enterprise agreements and entitlements, as well as experience coordinating and rostering medical staff, including managing daily duty rosters, leave, and unplanned absences will be well regarded.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
