Property Industry Foundation is the charity of the Australian property and construction industry. For 30 years, we have brought together businesses and industry leaders to create safe and supportive homes for young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Through the generosity of our donors, volunteers and industry partners, we fund and build projects with specialist youth housing organisations across Australia, helping provide vulnerable young people with the stability and support they need to thrive.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Head of Fundraising, the Fundraising & Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating fundraising, events and volunteer programs that deepen supporter engagement, strengthen community partnerships and contribute to achieving the Foundation's strategic objectives.

This is a diverse and hands-on role that combines donor stewardship, fundraising support, event coordination, volunteer engagement and CRM administration. Working across a range of stakeholders including donors, volunteers, corporate partners, committee members and internal teams, you will help deliver exceptional supporter experiences while contributing to fundraising growth and community impact.

The ideal candidate is highly organised, proactive and relationship-focused, with a passion for delivering outstanding service and creating meaningful engagement opportunities for supporters and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Donor Engagement

Drive meaningful donor engagement and fundraising outcomes by delivering exceptional supporter experiences.

• Coordinate donor onboarding and stewardship activities.
• Manage supporter enquiries via phone and email, ensuring a high standard of customer service.
• Coordinate donor acknowledgement processes, including thank you letters, emails and impact communications.
• Support donor retention initiatives and identify opportunities to strengthen supporter engagement and lifetime value.
• Collaborate with internal teams to recognise and celebrate supporters across communication channels.
• Ensure timely and accurate donation processing and supporter record management.

Event & Campaign Support

Coordinate and support fundraising events and campaigns that drive engagement, revenue growth and meaningful community impact.

• Provide operational and administrative support for fundraising events and campaigns.
• Engage and motivate participants to maximise fundraising outcomes.
• Build and maintain relationships with event committees and key stakeholders.
• Assist with meeting coordination, event logistics, reporting, reconciliations and purchase orders.
• Monitor campaign performance and supporter engagement.
• Attend events as required, including occasional evenings, weekends and interstate travel.

Volunteer Coordination

Coordinate and enhance volunteer engagement by supporting the recruitment, onboarding, training and recognition of volunteers, ensuring exceptional event-day experiences and a strong, sustainable volunteer network.

• Recruit, screen, onboard and support volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteer communications, scheduling and recognition activities.
• Support Event Managers with volunteer briefings and event-day operations.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and databases.
• Build and maintain a volunteer pipeline to support events and campaigns.
• Gather volunteer feedback and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Working Bees

Coordinate and support corporate volunteer projects and working bees by managing stakeholder relationships, logistics, risk management and volunteer engagement.

• Support the planning and delivery of corporate working bees and community projects.
• Liaise with charity partners, volunteers and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements.
• Manage logistics, supplies, catering and volunteer support requirements.
• Record and track in-kind and pro bono contributions.
• Coordinate communications and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Attend and support working bees as required.

CRM & Database Support

Deliver high-quality CRM and database administration that enables informed decision-making, strong supporter stewardship and effective fundraising operations.

• Maintain accurate donor, volunteer and event data within the CRM.
• Process donations, event registrations and in-kind contributions.
• Manage donation batching and gift tracking processes.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with organisational business rules.
• Support reporting and fundraising administration activities.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience in fundraising, events, customer service, volunteer coordination or a related field.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time management capabilities.
• Experience working with CRM systems and databases.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends and travel interstate when required.

Desirable

• Experience within the not-for-profit sector.
• Experience supporting peer-to-peer fundraising events.
• Experience recruiting and managing volunteers.
• Knowledge of donor stewardship and supporter engagement practices.
• Current driver's licence.
