Fundraising Coordinator

About Us:Originally named The Wayside Foundation, The Ted Noffs Foundation was established in 1970 by the great Australian humanitarian, Reverend Ted Noffs, and renamed in 1992 to honour his life’s work.Our services are focused on helping young people with drug, crime and mental health issues and have achieved significant success. Today, we run services across NSW, ACT and QLD with over 150 staff and nearly 300 volunteers committed to helping disadvantaged young Australians.
The Role:The Fundraising Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s fundraising initiatives and donor relationships. This position will be responsible for managing donor relationships, processing donations, coordinating fundraising campaigns, creating stewardship communications, and maintaining supporter databases. The Fundraising Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Communications, the Marketing Coordinator, Finance team and external partners to deliver successful fundraising campaigns and build lasting donor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Director of Communications and the Finance teams on fundraising campaigns, including digital initiatives and mailouts.Work alongside the Marketing Coordinator to ensure fundraising campaigns are supported by cohesive marketing and promotional materials.Collaborate with the Marketing Coordinator on fundraising event promotion and coordination, providing campaign information and donor context to support event marketing and promotion.Handle donor inquiries and complaints with professionalism, working to de-escalate concerns and resolve issues; escalate to the Director of Communications when escalation is required.Process donations and manage donor activity and gift records in the organisation's CRM system, maintaining strict confidentiality and data protection protocols at all times.Issue tax receipts and acknowledgment letters to donors in a timely manner; execute stewardship activities including donor recognition and thank you communications.Create and distribute donor newsletters using Mailchimp that communicate campaign updates, impact stories, and stewardship messages.Maintain regular contact with donors and supporters through phone calls and written correspondence to keep supporters informed and engaged.Support digital fundraising campaigns and online giving through the organisation's CRM system.Track all campaign expenses, maintain records, and submit expenses to the Director of Communications for approval prior to processing payments.Compile post-campaign reports and summaries documenting campaign activity, donor response, and campaign outcomes for the Director of Communications to submit to funders.
Skills and Experience:Excellent communication skills, specifically writing and verbal skills, with ability to build rapport with donors and supporters.Strong telephone manner and excellent verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport and establish trust with donors through professional and warm phone interactions.Strong experience with donor relationship management and stewardship; ability to maintain regular contact with multiple stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to handle donor inquiries and complaints professionally, with skill in de-escalation and problem resolution.Proficiency with CRM platforms, particularly Blackbaud RENXT or similar donor management systems.Strong understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements; ability to handle sensitive donor information securely.Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp for campaign distribution and newsletter management.Sound financial management skills; ability to track and monitor expenses, maintain records, and reconcile against budgets.Ability to work through established processes and procedures; able to troubleshoot routine issues within organisational guidelines.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and adapt to changing needs.Excellent organisational and detail-oriented approach with strong relationship-building capability.Excellent ability to work in Microsoft Office, GSuite, and iWork.Must be flexible and able to work from various Sydney locations; some interstate travel may be required.Successful candidate must have a valid NSW Working With Children Check prior to commencing employment.
Preferred Qualifications:A degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.Understanding of fundraising and donor engagement principles in the not-for-profit sector
