About the role
Help build lasting connections that give animals the best chance of a happy and healthy life.
About The Lost Dogs’ Home
At The Lost Dogs’ Home, we care for lost dogs, cats and other companion animals. We reunite lost pets with their families, find new homes for others and seek the best possible outcome for every animal that comes into our care. We are looking for a warm, articulate and emotionally intelligent relationship-builder to join our team at our North Melbourne site in a part-time role of 30 hours per week.
At The Lost Dogs’ Home, we cultivate an inclusive work environment that celebrates diversity. Our team enjoys a vibrant culture that fosters meaningful connections, both professionally and socially. Led by our dedicated social committee, we organise a wide range of engaging activities such as Paint and Sip Nights, Bowling, Trivia, and regular after-work gatherings. These events create opportunities for our team to relax, bond, and forge lasting friendships. We take pride in our diverse team where every individual is encouraged to be their authentic self, regardless of their role within the organisation.
What we can offer:
About the role
Reporting to the Gifts in Wills Manager, you will develop and maintain meaningful, long-term relationships with current and prospective Gifts in Wills supporters. Personable and confident, you will provide timely, personal and inspiring experiences that deepen each supporter’s connection with the Home.
You will manage a supporter portfolio, coordinate communications and engagement opportunities, and work with a team of volunteers to deliver thoughtful stewardship activities. Your proactive, organised approach will help identify and qualify interest, nurture prospective supporters and move relationships through the Gifts in Wills journey. You will engage primarily by phone, email and written correspondence, with opportunities to connect face to face at events and through other supporter experiences.
What you’ll do
About you
You are a personable and empathetic communicator who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, especially over the phone. Emotionally intelligent and respectful, you can build trust with supporters of varied ages and cultural backgrounds, including older people, while adapting your approach to individual needs.
You communicate clearly and professionally in writing and conversation, and can confidently present information to small groups. You are organised and proactive, accountable for following through on commitments, and flexible when priorities change. You work well as part of a team, can coordinate volunteers effectively and are equally comfortable working autonomously.
Ideally, you will also bring:
Make a lasting difference
If you are passionate about building genuine relationships and want your work to support better outcomes for animals, we would love to hear from you. Apply to join The Lost Dogs’ Home as our part-time Gifts in Wills Stewardship Coordinator, working 30 hours per week at our North Melbourne site.
