About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join our team on a full-time basis for a 6-month maternity cover position. Based in Belrose, NSW, this role is essential to maintaining the financial operations and administrative accuracy of Acorn Stairlifts Pty Ltd. As an Accounts Officer, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, processing transactions, and providing support to the finance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills whilst contributing to the smooth running of our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and reconciling invoices, purchase orders, and payment transactions

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records and general ledger entries

• Preparing bank reconciliations and assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures

• Data entry and management of financial information using accounting software systems

• Responding to supplier and customer enquiries regarding invoices and payments

• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements

• Performing administrative duties including filing, scanning and document management

• Supporting the finance team with ad hoc accounting tasks and special projects as required

• Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards

What we're looking for

• A qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or a related discipline

• Proven experience working as an Accounts Officer, Accounts Clerk or similar finance role, preferably in a commercial environment

• Strong proficiency with accounting software packages and general IT skills, including Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial information

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders

• A methodical approach to work and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive financial information
