Accounts Clerk - 16 Month Contract

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Accounts team on a 16-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity leave cover.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience in day-to-day accounts administration who enjoys variety and wants exposure across accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll, including timesheets, leave and employee payroll documentation.

• Accounts payable; including processing supplier invoices, preparing payments.

• Accounts receivable; including raising customer invoices, allocating payments and monitoring outstanding balances.

• Respond to routine payroll and supplier queries, and assist with debt collection activities.

• Match invoices against purchase orders and supporting documentation.

• Maintain accurate customer and supplier records.

• Assist with account reconciliations and customer statements

• Provide general accounts and administrative support to the wider finance function.

About you

• Experience in accounts administration, bookkeeping or a similar finance role.

• Comfortable working across accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.

• Accurate, organised and reliable with strong attention to detail.

• Confident using accounting software such as Reckon, QuickBooks or Xero, and Microsoft Excel.

• Professional when communicating with customers, suppliers and employees.

• Able to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a small team.
