Bookkeeper & Office Administrator (Mat Leave Cover)

We're a small air conditioning business based in Hallam, looking for a friendly and organised Bookkeeper & Office Administrator to join our team for a 12-month maternity leave contract, with the possibility of an ongoing role.

This is a hands-on position where you'll manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and help keep our office running smoothly. You'll work closely with the Director and Service Coordinator as part of a supportive, close-knit team where your contribution will be valued.

What you'll be doing

• Process weekly payroll.  

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Process supplier invoices and reconcile supplier statements.

• Invoicing customers and sending out statements.

• Follow up outstanding customer accounts.

• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.

• Prepare end-of-month reconciliations and management reports.

• Assist with BAS, FBT and end-of-financial-year processes.

• Manage the office inbox and respond to customer enquiries.

• Complete general office administration, filing and document management.

• Provide administrative support to the Director and Service Coordinator where required.

• Answer phones and assist customers as secondary support to the Service Coordinator.  

• Provide cover for the Service Coordinator during annual leave, RDOs, lunch breaks ect.

• Work with the team to keep the office running efficiently.

About you

• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts or a similar finance role.

• Experience using MYOB.

• Payroll processing experience.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• The ability to manage your workload, meet deadlines and work independently.

• A positive, reliable and team-oriented attitude.

Experience in the air conditioning, construction or trades industry is an advantage but not essential.

Hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am-4pm
