Expressions of Interest - Deputy (Mining Supervisor)

As we prepare to restart this Southern Coalfields operation, we are seeking expressions of interest for experienced and motivated Deputies to join us in building a safe, productive and sustainable future.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are seeking expressions of interest for suitably qualified candidates for permanent positions based at Tahmoor Mine, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of Sydney and within easy commuting distance of Wollongong, the Macarthur region and surrounding communities.  

We are looking for experienced Deputies (Mining Supervisors) to:  

• Supervise crews and inspect work areas to ensure safe and compliant operations. 

• Monitor and enforce compliance with mining legislation, statutory requirements and site Safety Management Systems. 

• Lead and support crews to work safely while achieving operational objectives. 

• Identify and manage workplace hazards through effective risk assessment and task planning. 

• Report safety, compliance and operational issues to the Undermanager. 

• Complete statutory inspections and ensure all required reports are accurate and submitted on time. 

• Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across the operation. 

Weekday & Weekend Day/Afternoon/Night shift rosters are available.  

ABOUT YOU 

You are a safety focused leader with a drive to exceed expectations and achieve operational targets and improvements. Your strong interpersonal leadership skills will be crucial to your success in this role.  

To be considered for the role, you must have:  

• Minimum 12 months' experience working as a Deputy in an Underground Coal Mine  

• NSW Deputy Mining Supervisor Qualification  

• Generic Underground Coal Induction including Self-Escape and CABA training  

• Current Australian Driver's Licence  

• Evidence of relevant training, qualifications and competencies including NSW Deputy Practicing Certificate along with complaint Maintenance of Competence 

• Strong commitment to safety and hazard awareness
