We've developed a streamlined process for requesting quotes and selecting preferred delivery methods—whether through a collection point, a local depot, or our highly sought-after direct-to-farm option.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a Junior Operations Support Officer to join our team and assist with the day-to-day operations of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, motivated, enjoys learning new things and is looking to develop their skills across a variety of business operations.
About the RoleThe Junior Operations Support Officer will provide support across our logistics, inventory, procurement and administrative functions.
This is a varied role where you will have the opportunity to learn how a growing business operates and develop practical skills across a number of different areas.
You will work closely with the operations team and receive training and support as you learn our systems, processes and products. As your knowledge and confidence develop, you will take on increasing responsibility and ownership of your tasks.
The role would suit someone who enjoys being busy, likes working with computers and systems, has strong attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with planning and coordinating weekly delivery runs.
Prepare and distribute delivery manifests.
Communicate with drivers, customers and freight companies.
Contact customers to confirm upcoming deliveries.
Assist with managing delivery documentation, including manifests and connotes.
Follow up outstanding delivery paperwork.
Assist with maintaining Dangerous Goods transport documentation.
Assist with supplier communications and purchasing requirements.
Create and manage supplier purchase orders.
Monitor incoming orders and deliveries.
Maintain current supplier price lists.
Assist with monitoring stock requirements and upcoming purchasing needs.
Assist with the administration of overseas container imports as your knowledge develops.
Prepare customer sales orders and invoices.
Enter and maintain information across our business systems.
Reconcile freight invoices against deliveries and customer orders.
Assist with customer account follow-up and general administration.
Maintain accurate filing of operational documentation.
Maintain product and pricing information.
Develop and maintain spreadsheets and reports.
Assist with improving administrative processes and systems.
Complete general administrative tasks as required.
Maintain accurate stock reporting across multiple reporting systems.
Assist with regular stocktakes.
Monitor stock levels and assist with identifying upcoming requirements.
Receive and process supplier purchase orders.
Check completed orders prior to invoicing.
Process warehouse stock transfers and inventory movements.
Support ongoing improvements to inventory accuracy and stock control.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised, proactive, has a great attention to detail and is keen to learn.
You don't need extensive experience in agriculture, logistics or procurement. We are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, work ethic and ability to learn.
You will be someone who:
Is highly organised and pays close attention to detail.
Takes pride in completing work accurately.
Is confident using computers and learning new software.
Has a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Learns new systems and processes quickly.
Can follow instructions and established procedures accurately.
Takes ownership of tasks and follows them through to completion.
Is comfortable asking questions when they are unsure.
Can communicate professionally with customers, suppliers and drivers.
Can manage multiple tasks and prioritise competing deadlines.
Enjoys solving problems and finding ways to improve processes.
Is comfortable working independently once trained.
Has a positive attitude and is willing to help wherever needed.
Previous experience in operations, logistics, administration, procurement or inventory management is desirable but not essential.
Experience with Excel, Google Sheets or inventory management software such as Unleashed is advantageous, but full training will be provided.
Experience within the agriculture, transport or Dangerous Goods industries is also advantageous but not essential.
