Accountant

About the role

Working within a high performing team, you will focus on accounting, tax advisory and business advisory for a variety of clients which will give you exposure to a broad range of industries and structures. The role is well suited for an ambitious individual looking to take on further responsibilities, and someone who can work well both independently and as part of a team to deliver great outcomes on a portfolio of clients and maintain excellent relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare business monthly/quarterly activity statements, tax returns and business financials for Individuals, Partnerships, Trusts and Companies

• Preparation of tax planning for larger business clients

• Assist with ad hoc business advice provided to clients

• Assist the offshore team with workflow management and training support

• Seek opportunities to offer additional advice to clients in consultation with the senior accountant and partner

• Support a portfolio of clients, working closely with both an onshore and offshore team

• Deliver exceptional client service and maintain excellent client relationships

About you

• Accounting qualified with willingness to obtain CA or CPA or having started

• Minimum of 2+ years' experience working in public practice

• Experience in the preparation of activity statements, individual tax returns, financial statements and income tax returns for partnerships companies and trusts

• Experience with Division 7A, trust distributions and multi entity clients

• Strong communication skills and excellent work ethic

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Driven to succeed and motivated

• Positive solutions-based attitude and willingness to learn

• Ability to build strong relationships with clients

• Friendly, committed and flexible attitude
