Senior Accountant - Business Services

About the role

Working as part of the Business Services and Advisory team, you'll be responsible for a portfolio of privately owned businesses and individuals. As you develop, you'll have greater ownership of client relationships and the opportunity to become a trusted adviser rather than simply a compliance accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for various entities including companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals, with exposure to Division 7a

• Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax Returns for various fringe benefits provided

• Preparation of BAS and IAS

• Tax planning and year-end strategies

• Assisting clients with day-to-day taxation and business matters

• Liaising directly with clients and Australian Taxation Office

• Working with senior accountants and director on more complex assignments

• Managing offshore staffs and provide guidance on jobs

• Building strong, long-term relationships with clients

About you

• Approximately 3–6 years' Australian public-practice accounting experience

• Experience preparing financial statements and Australian income tax returns

• Relevant accounting or commerce degree

• Studying towards, or has completed, CA or CPA

• Communicates well and is comfortable dealing with clients

• Takes pride in producing high-quality work

• Organised, reliable and able to manage deadlines

• Enjoys being part of a team

• Wants to continue learning and progressing professionally
