Sales Consultant – Flooring

An established Sunshine Coast flooring retailer is seeking an experienced and motivated Full-Time Sales Consultant to join their team.

This is a varied sales role combining showroom customer service, measure & quote appointments, sales follow-up and proactive new account acquisition.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team but is equally confident getting out into the local market, developing relationships and creating new sales opportunities.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing professional sales and product advice to showroom customers

• Managing customer enquiries from initial contact through to sale

• Attending measure & quote appointments

• Preparing accurate quotations promptly and following them up in a timely fashion

• Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships

• Proactively identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities

• Acquiring new trade, commercial and referral accounts

• Building relationships with builders, designers, property managers, real estate agencies and other potential referral partners

• Visiting prospective and existing business customers as required

• Following sales through ordering, scheduling and installation

• Working closely with the wider sales, customer service, warehouse and installation teams

• Maintaining accurate customer and sales records

• Participating in the sales team’s rotating Saturday roster

• Meeting or exceeding Sales targets

• Helping maintain the Showroom presentation

The role is primarily based in our Sunshine Coast showroom, with travel within our coverage area for customer appointments, new account acquisition and relationship-building as required.

About You

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous flooring sales experience, including measure & quote experience

• Strong retail and customer service skills

• Confidence preparing and presenting quotations

• A proven ability to follow up opportunities and close sales

• Strong relationship-building skills

• Confidence approaching prospective new business accounts

• Good organisation and time-management skills

• Sound computer skills

• A current driver’s licence

• Availability to work occasional Saturday mornings as part of a rotating roster

• A positive, professional and team-focused approach

Experience within the flooring industry would be highly regarded, although applicants with strong sales experience in a related building, interiors or home-improvement industry may also be considered.
