About the role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Factory Hand to join the team at O'Brien Engineering Pty Ltd. This is a full-time position based in Silverwater NSW 2128. As a Factory Hand, you will play a crucial role in supporting our warehousing, storage and distribution operations, ensuring that products are handled efficiently and safely. This position is essential to maintaining the smooth flow of our manufacturing and logistics operations, directly contributing to our company's success and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

• Operating and maintaining warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks and other machinery in accordance with safety protocols

• Receiving, storing and organising raw materials and finished products in designated warehouse areas

• Picking, packing and preparing products for dispatch to customers with accuracy and efficiency

• Loading and unloading goods from delivery vehicles, ensuring items are handled with care

• Maintaining accurate inventory records and reporting stock levels to supervisors

• Cleaning and maintaining warehouse facilities to ensure a safe and organised working environment

• Following all health and safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

• Assisting with quality control checks on materials and finished products

• Supporting other team members and supervisors as required to meet operational targets

What we're looking for

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, carrying and moving heavy items regularly

• Attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and processing orders

• Strong work ethic with reliability and punctuality

• Ability to work safely and follow all health and safety guidelines without exception

• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it

• Basic numeracy skills for inventory management and stock counting

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Previous warehouse or factory experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work demands
