Wholesale Sales Manager

About the role

As Wholesale Sales Manager, you'll lead the sales operation of a high-volume automotive wholesaler. You'll lead a team of 7 experienced salespeople, manage and expand our national dealer network, drive sales performance and ensure stock is priced, sold, paid for and moved quickly. This is a genuine leadership position with significant earning potential and the opportunity to play a major role in the next stage of our growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop our sale team

• Drive sales volume, gross profit and overall team performance

• Manage our existing national dealer network while actively developing new accounts

• Build strong relationships with Used Car Managers, Buyers and Dealer Principals

• Work closely with our buying team to ensure vehicles are priced correctly for the wholesale market

• Maintain fast turnaround from stock arrival to quote, sale, payment and transport

• Identify aged stock early and implement strategies to keep inventory moving

• Maintain strong dealer payment discipline and debtor performance

• Oversee the day-to-day flow between sales, yard operations, transport and accounts

• Use our systems and software's, to manage stock, quotes, offers, dealers, sales performance and gross in real time

About you

• Genuine automotive experience and understanding of how the used-car market works

• Experience in vehicle wholesale, used-car management, buying and valuing, auctions or high-volume automotive sales

• Understanding of LMCT, PPSR, trade values, landed costs, dealer margins, aged stock and gross profit

• Successfully lead and developed salespeople

• Ability to motivate a team and hold people accountable

• Confident in pricing and negotiating vehicles

• Comfortable working in a very fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Can protect margin while maintaining strong stock turn

• Commercially sharp, organised and decisive

About us

We are a fast-growing Melbourne-based vehicle wholesaler, currently moving approximately 450 vehicles per month through an established dealer network across Australia. Our next target is 1,000 vehicles per month. The infrastructure, stock supply and systems are being built to handle 1,000 cars per month.
