Head Pool Technicians

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head Pool Technician to join the team at Deepwater Pools & Spas. This is a full-time position based in West Gosford, NSW 2250. As Head Pool Technician, you will take on a leadership role within our technical operations, overseeing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of pool and spa systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety across all technical projects, whilst managing and mentoring junior technicians. This role is strategically important to our business, as it directly impacts customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the reputation of Deepwater Pools & Spas in the warehousing, storage and distribution sector of pool and spa equipment and services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of pool technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance management

• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing of pool and spa systems to ensure optimal functionality

• Diagnose and repair complex technical issues with pool equipment, filtration systems, and water treatment systems

• Manage the storage, handling, and distribution of pool chemicals, equipment, and spare parts in compliance with safety regulations

• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work, repairs, and service visits

• Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian safety standards and industry best practices

• Liaise with customers to understand their requirements and provide technical advice and solutions

• Plan and schedule maintenance activities and technician workloads to maximise efficiency

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies within the technical operations

• Participate in ongoing training and stay current with new pool and spa technologies

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience as a pool technician with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity

• Strong technical knowledge of pool and spa systems, including pumps, filters, heaters, and water treatment systems

• Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing pool equipment and identifying system faults

• Sound understanding of chemical water treatment and pool safety compliance standards

• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

• Strong leadership and communication abilities, with experience in training and mentoring junior staff

• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to customer sites as required

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, including safe handling of chemicals and equipment

• Preferred: Relevant qualifications or certifications in pool servicing or water treatment
