About the role
Starfish in Batemans Bay is a stunning waterfront dining venue on the NSW South Coast with capacity to seat 100+ patrons and host functions. The successful candidate will prepare high quality meals for diners, follow safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen, manage and train less experienced kitchen staff, and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion. You will keep up with industry trends and create new recipes, monitor food costs, and be responsible for stock control. Experience in Asian fusion is an advantage.
Key responsibilities
Prepare high quality meals for diners
Follow safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen
Manage and train less experienced kitchen staff
Delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion
Keep up with industry trends and create new recipes
Monitor food costs and be responsible for stock control
About you
Recognised chef qualification e.g Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
2+ years as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a full-service restaurant
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
