🔎 The OpportunitySenior Estimator – Civil & Earthworks Full-Time | PermanentOur client is a major Tier 1 / Tier 2 civil contractor delivering large-scale civil infrastructure and earthworks packages across Australia, with project values ranging from $5M–$100M. As they continue to grow their pipeline of civil works, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team.
Role Details📍 Location: Sydney, NSW 🏗 Discipline: Civil & Infrastructure – Earthworks💼 Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent 🚀 Start: Immediate start preferred🏢 Project Portfolio: Tier 1 & Tier 2 civil infrastructure and earthworks packages ($5M–$100M)
🎯 Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate, competitive estimates for civil and earthworks packages across tender and pre-construction phasesAnalyse tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes of work to develop detailed cost plansSource and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, and manage the RFQ processDevelop and present quantity take-offs for bulk earthworks, civil works, drainage and associated infrastructureBuild cost models covering labour, plant, materials and subcontractor packagesIdentify project risks, opportunities and value-engineering options during the estimating phaseLiaise with clients, design consultants, and internal project teams to clarify scope and pricing assumptionsContribute to the preparation of tender submissions, including methodology and pricing documentationSupport handover of successful tenders to project delivery teamsMaintain accurate estimating records, benchmarking data and historical cost databases
🌟Skills & Experience7+ years of construction-related civil experience, with a strong estimating backgroundProven experience with a major civil contractor delivering Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects, on packages between $5M–$100MCivil infrastructure experience strongly preferred (earthworks, roads, drainage, bulk earthworks, subdivisions or similar)Australian construction industry experience essential – the longer the local track record, the betterStrong technical understanding of civil construction methods, plant and equipment, and earthworks quantitiesProficiency with estimating software and quantity take-off toolsExcellent numerical, analytical and cost-planning skillsStrong communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholdersRelevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar (highly regarded)✅ Why Apply?Join a well-established, major civil contractor with a strong pipeline of Tier 1 and Tier 2 workWork across a diverse range of high-value civil and earthworks packagesPermanent, full-time role offering long-term career stability and progressionBe part of a collaborative pre-construction team with genuine input into project outcomesCompetitive remuneration package reflective of experience
