Experienced barista

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled, friendly, and energetic Barista to join our team at U&CO Cafe. You’ll be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and other beverages, delivering excellent customer service, and helping create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, filter coffee, tea, and specialty beverages to a consistently high standard
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station, equipment, and service areas
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Restock milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies as needed
• Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Support other team members during busy periods (food service, cleaning, etc.)
• Assist with opening and closing duties as rostered
• Uphold cafe standards for quality, presentation, and speed of service

Requirements

• Previous barista experience preferred (training can be provided for the right candidate)
• Strong knowledge of coffee preparation and latte art is an advantage
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and a positive team player
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
