Chef – Full-Time Position / Casual positions

Location: Yanchep, Western Australia
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $78000-$85,000 per annum + superannuation (negotiable based on skills, experience and qualifications)

ELG Australia is seeking an experienced Sous and qualified casual Chef(s) at different levels to join our Award-winning venue Yanchep Beach Club, Perth, Western Australia.

We operate multiple dining venues across Perth, and the opportunities are endless with ELG. We are looking for a passionate culinary professional to join our kitchen team. The successful applicants will work closely with our Head Chef and kitchen management team to deliver high-quality food, maintain efficient kitchen operations, and ensure exceptional standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

·       Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals in accordance with menu specifications and kitchen standards.

·       Assist with the daily operation of the kitchen, including preparation, service, and cleaning procedures.

·       Ensure consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation.

·       Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.

·       Manage food preparation, storage, stock rotation, and safe handling procedures.

·       Assist with menu execution and contribute ideas to improve kitchen operations.

·       Monitor stock levels, minimise food wastage, and support food cost management.

·       Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a safe and organised working environment.

·       Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen team members where required.

Skills and Experience Required

The successful candidate will have:

·       Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment.

·       Relevant culinary qualifications and/or demonstrated industry experience.

·       Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.

·       Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles.

·       Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

·       Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

·       Experience with stock control, ordering, and food cost management.

About the Position

We have several positions available as we build our summer team, the full-time position offered will be a competitive salary package based on experience and skills. The successful applicants may be required to work across our Perth venues, including locations such as Iluka, Hillary's, Sorrento and Applecross.
