Support and enhance CDU’s network infrastructure, ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing wired and wireless services across campuses.
About the Position
As the Network Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Charles Darwin University’s network infrastructure. Working within the DTS Infrastructure Team, you will help ensure the reliability, security, and performance of wired and wireless networks that support teaching, learning, research, and business operations. You will contribute to network upgrades, troubleshooting, documentation, security controls, and technical projects across the University.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
• Preferable experience in working with Cisco with good knowledge in working with wired and wireless networks in a complex network environment.
• Proficiency in various technical aspects of networking, including installation, configuration, customization and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of network protocols and standards, network security best practices, scripting and automation as well as network monitoring, diagnostic, and configuration tools.
• Technical knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs (e.g., Cisco, Juniper MIST, Fortinet).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
• Must have the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously as well as work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to the University’s values.
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance
Remuneration
Appointment for this role will be at Professional Level 6. The base salary will be in the range of $89,487.76 – $95,375.86 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $104,700.68- $111,589.76 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
