About the role
Work Type: Full Time
Location: Cape Tribulation, Far North Queensland
Accommodation: Private onsite accommodation provided
Cape Trib Camping is an established, family-owned tourism and hospitality business located in Cape Tribulation, where the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef.
We are much more than a campground. Our operation includes:
Camping & Accommodation: Large beachfront campground with powered and unpowered sites and cabins.
Restaurant & Bar: Licensed onsite wood-fired restaurant and bar operating 7 days for lunch and dinner.
Cape Trib Horse Rides: Guided horseback tours through the Daintree Rainforest and onto Myall Beach.
After more than a decade of building and operating the business ourselves, we're looking for an experienced manager to take the lead on the day-to-day operation.
We are looking for an experienced, practical and hands-on Tourism & Hospitality Manager to oversee our busy and diverse operation.
The main focus of this role is food and beverage, guest services and staff management, while also overseeing campground, accommodation and tourism operations.
This is not purely a desk-based role. You'll need to be visible, involved and willing to work alongside the team when required.
We are also an off-grid operation managing our own power, water and wastewater systems, so being practical, resourceful and able to troubleshoot basic issues is important.
Applications are welcome from individuals or management couples, with salary and responsibilities structured accordingly.

Work closely with the owners on staffing, operations and business performance
We're looking for someone with:
Previous management experience in tourism, hospitality, accommodation, holiday parks or similar
Strong food and beverage and guest service experience
Proven experience leading, rostering and training staff
Confidence using NewBook, Lightspeed, Rezdy or similar systems
Experience with stock control, ordering, reconciliations and banking
Strong computer, communication and problem-solving skills
A practical, hands-on attitude and ability to work independently
Basic maintenance or mechanical knowledge is highly regarded
Availability to work weekends and peak holiday periods
Manual driver's licence, First Aid, Food Safety, RMLV, Blue Card and Police Check
Full Australian working rights
Previous tourism or hospitality management experience is required. References will be requested.
Competitive salary package based on experience
Private onsite accommodation - No pets.
Opportunity to take genuine ownership of an established and growing business
A diverse role across hospitality, accommodation, camping and tourism
Experienced, hands-on owners who will support you
Opportunity to bring your own ideas and help grow the business
A unique lifestyle in Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest
Apply through SEEK with your resume and a short cover letter outlining your management experience and why you'd like to live and work in Cape Tribulation.
