Dicker Access and Surveillance (DAS)
DAS is Australia's leading distribution destination for security businesses. Distributing a wide range of products from the world's leading brands, the DAS team is comprised of technical experts who help our customers to design, configure and deliver best-practice access and surveillance solutions.
Our team is made up of the most highly certified and knowledgeable people, meaning the service you receive from DAS is second to none. Whether you need technical assistance to scope and design solutions for your customers, or you’re looking for the fastest order turnaround in the industry, the DAS team is your reliable, helpful, and safe pair of hands. Plus, we have 10 convenient branch locations around Australia.
This position covers responsibilities involved with Business Development of a defined territory or territories. This includes ensuring budget is achieved, direct management of selected accounts, vendor relationships, inter- and intra-department liaison.
This role is ideal for a high-performing Business Development Manager who thrives on building relationships, uncovering opportunities, delivering strong commercial results, and is ready to take the next step into a leadership and management position.
Primary
Achieve/Exceed Territory target defined by hitting 100% of assigned margin target.
You will do this by
Identification of opportunities and taking specific actions to ensure that Dicker DAS is well positioned to ‘win the businesses’
Close relationship with Vendors, utilise all available Vendor resources to redirect business to Dicker DAS.
Provide high level of service to assigned Resellers, so that Dicker DAS has majority market share within Territory

General
Provide customer service and sales support to all Dicker DAS customers when required
Always present a professional image to Resellers, Vendors and End Users.
Develop strong product and process knowledge of all Dicker DAS Vendors.
Acquire and maintain vendor Sales Certifications as directed
Attend Reseller and Vendor social and training events, which may be out of normal hours
Forecast accurately throughout the month and quarter
Ensure that, where possible, the customer's financial arrangements are in line with their business needs (credit limits, payment terms etc.). Initiate reviews as appropriate
Liaise with appropriate Dicker DAS Sales, Presales and/or Technical Support teams for assistance with quotations involving large and/or complex configurations
Proactively seek and develop new business opportunities in existing and potential accounts
Conduct Customer and Vendor Meetings each week as per goals set by your Manager
Submit a weekly territory forecast
Attend regular business and customer reviews on a schedule and location set by your manager
Record sales call and other such data in an application to be advised
Take all reasonably practicable steps to maintain the health and safety of yourself and others, and to minimise risks
Follow Dicker Data’s policies, procedures, and reasonable instructions always
What you will need to succeed in the role
High level interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise work, to meet with company and customer expectations
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. This includes an ability to communicate and liaise with all levels of customer and supplier contacts
Intermediate MS Office literacy and ERP applications
Numeracy skills - (multiplication, division, addition & subtraction)
Understanding of administration procedures (e.g., ordering, receipting, invoicing, returns and payments)
Detailed knowledge of the relevant market
High level of initiative and enthusiasm
Well-developed negotiation skills
High level product knowledge
Ability to recognise potential in customers and end users.
Ability to forecast numbers against budget on a monthly / quarterly basis.
