Associate – Commercial (Sydney) | Part Time

The Opportunity 

Join Macpherson Kelley’s Sydney Commercial team in a unique part-time (3 days per week) Associate opportunity, where you’ll build trusted client relationships, work across a diverse range of commercial and corporate matters and be supported by experienced senior lawyers within a well-respected national firm.

You will work across a broad mix of commercial matters with a particular focus on charity and not-for-profit clients, including contract drafting and negotiation, governance and structuring, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property and information technology.

Working closely with experienced senior lawyers, you will be supported to build your technical capability, client relationships and commercial judgement while taking ownership of matters and enjoying the variety and pace of a flexible working environment. You’ll also benefit from structured career progression and ongoing development through the Macpherson Kelley Business School.

About You

You will ideally have:

• A minimum of four years PAE working in commercial law;
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and act as a trusted point of contact;
• Exposure to, or an interest in, charity and not-for-profit advisory work;
• The ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously where appropriate and collaborate effectively with the team;
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with sound commercial judgement;
• A strong commitment to excellent client service.
