CVS Vets Veterinary Nurse Northcote Animal Hospital/ CVS Vets Australia Location: Northcote, VIC 3070 Position: Full-Time Veterinary Nurse Salary: $79,450 - $79,450 per annum plus superannuation (depending on skills and experience) About Us Northcote Animal Hospital (CVS Vets Australia) is a well-established companion animal practice committed to delivering high-quality veterinary care and exceptional client service. Our dedicated team provides a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and preventative healthcare services to pets in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
About the Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Veterinary Nurse to join our professional and supportive team on a full-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with veterinarians in a busy small animal practice, providing high standards of patient care and client support.
Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with medical consultations, examinations and treatments. Prepare patients for surgical and diagnostic procedures. Monitor anaesthesia and patient recovery.
Collect and process laboratory samples and perform routine pathology procedures. Perform nursing treatments, wound management and patient monitoring. Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes.
Provide client education regarding animal health, medications and preventative care. Assist with hospital admissions, discharges and patient care plans. Maintain hygiene, infection control and workplace health and safety standards.
Support reception duties and appointment management as required. Assist with stock management and ordering of veterinary supplies. Skills and Experience Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of two years' experience working as a Veterinary Nurse in a veterinary practice. Sound knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures, anaesthesia monitoring and patient care. Strong communication and client service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when required. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality animal care.
