Junior Estimator

Beardwood is seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will support our estimating and project delivery functions through the preparation, review, and coordination of project information, costs, and documentation.

Working closely with our Estimator, Project Managers, and Site Managers, you will assist with accurate pricing, tendering, procurement, and cost control while building your practical knowledge of construction requirements, plans, specifications, and contract documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimating & Tendering Support: Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender submissions.

• Documentation Management: Review and coordinate project plans, specifications, contract documentation, and supplier quotes.

• Cost Control & Procurement: Assist Project Managers with trade procurement, order placements, and tracking project costs against budget.

• Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain clear communication with internal team members, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.

• Project Administration: Provide general administrative support to project delivery teams across all stages of construction.

Desirables

• Basic understanding of construction drawings, plans, specifications, and building codes.

• Strong numerical accuracy and proficiency with MS Office (particularly Excel); exposure to estimating software (e.g. Cubit, or Bluebeam) is highly regarded.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.

• A proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and develop within the construction industry.
