About the role
Parliament of Tasmania offers a supportive environment to enable our employees to do the best work of their career. The Director, Information Services is a pivotal senior executive leadership position within the Legislature-General, forming part of the executive management team responsible for providing strategic direction, visionary leadership and operational excellence across information and information technology management of the Parliament.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Legislature-General, you will lead a diverse portfolio spanning Information and Communication Technology Services, Parliamentary Reporting Services, and the Parliamentary Library and Research Service.
As a trusted executive colleague, you will bring professional flexibility and strategic foresight to drive digital transformation and business excellence, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
About Us
The Parliament of Tasmania is a meeting place where elected representatives meet to make laws, authorise the expenditure of public funds, scrutinise the government of the day, and give a voice to their constituents in the electorates. The Parliament is made up of three (3) separate Departments consisting of House of Assembly, Legislative Council, and Legislature - General.
Location
We foster a collaborative and engaging workplace. As such, this role is required to be performed in person and on site in Hobart and may involve work at additional locations depending on operational requirements.

Significant demonstrated experience leading a service delivery organisation, with a proven track record of implementing organisational change and transforming service delivery within a diverse organisation, ideally within a parliamentary or government context.
Demonstrated capability to inspire a sense of purpose and direction, with the ability to provide high-level analysis and strategic advice, identify emerging issues and assess strategic and financial merits and risks.
Strong leadership and strategic capability, including the ability to build organisational capability, harness professional expertise, steer and implement change and deliver on intended results.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
A sound understanding of information management, ICT governance principles, cybersecurity, and digital transformation within a complex organisational context.
Demonstrated capacity to cultivate productive working relationships and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
Have or be able to obtain a ‘national police record check’.
